Let’s Go To The Movies!
Film lovers are in for a treat when you holiday with us in Broadstairs. We are very fortunate to have two wonderful character-filled cinemas in the area, as well as a modern multiplex…..
All three show the usual big films on general release as well as many more unexpected screenings of less mainstream fare. Check their websites (below) for listings.
The first is the Palace Cinema, Broadstairs – it’s on little a cobbled street just up from the seafront, and it has had a very famous recent visitor, Brad Pitt! He was filming ‘World War Z’ in the area and decided he wanted to catch a movie with his family.
On Tuesdays the Palace Film Club welcomes members and visitors to see arthouse offerings from around the world.

Then there’s the Carlton Cinema in Westgate-on-Sea. This a classic theatre-style cinema, which has recently had new seating and screens and offers a luxurious viewing environment. It’s housed in a distinctive Grade II listed building and there’s a rather nice little tea room called Frederick’s at the front.
For a family trip to the cinema it doesn’t get much more reasonably priced than the Carlton – £2.50 a seat during the week and £3.50 at weekends.

Finally, there’s the ten screen Vue multiplex at Westwood Cross, located across the car park from Marks and Spencers and next to a number of very popular chain restaurants – Nando’s, ASK, Frankie & Benny’s and Chiquito. The Vue regularly screens National Theatre performances and other live events in addition to all the usual films you would expect.

Any of the local cinemas will be sure to provide a great night’s entertainment during your stay with us. Perhaps you’ll visit all three and tell us how you get on, via our Facebook page. Each one is different but we think all three are pretty special.
