Summer 2013: Hottest, Driest & Sunniest for 7 years!

The first hint of autumn chill is in the air, and we at Beeches Holiday Lets are coming to end of our summer season, taking stock and reflecting on summer 2013…..it’s been a good one and we have already started getting some of our earliest ever enquiries for holiday lets bookings for summer 2014!

Overall, the weather has been wonderful. Statistics show that summer 2013 was the hottest, driest and sunniest on record since 2006!

The above average levels of sunshine –  some 588 hours – made this summer 2013 the seventh ‘sunniest’ summer since records began in 1929.

From our point of view it’s been a gift, in Broadstairs and Margate – we’ve swum, BBQ’d, sat on the beach, enjoyed warm mornings and evenings, and watched countless glorious sunsets. It felt like things really kicked off this year from right from the early May Bank Holiday – the beaches were packed, much more so than on the same weekends in 2012 – with so many visitors here enjoying all that the area has to offer.

Summer 2013 has seen hugely successful events like Broadstairs Folk Week take place, and milestones have been reached – like Turner Contemporary welcoming it’s millionth visitor at the end of August!

So with a bit of help from the weather, summer 2013 has been absolutely fabulous in Broadstairs, Margate and Ramsgate. Roll on Summer 2014, we’d love to see you down here, if you’re thinking of coming and don’t forget to get your hols booked in early!
