Holidaying with Children?

We all know that keeping children entertained is a key part of any family holiday. So if you’re thinking of coming to stay with us you’ll want to know what you and your youngsters can do together in the local area.

The good news is there’s plenty for kids here in Broadstairs and nearby.

Our gorgeous golden sandy bays offer many hours of amusement and relaxation combined (the first for the kids, the second hopefully for you!) so head to the beach when you arrive and expect to spend many happy hours there.

Of course, sometimes the weather dictates that you don’t want to spend all day on the beach, or you just fancy a change. What then?

Check out a new site, launched last year, called Beach Kids, Things to do with Children in Thanet. It’s a fantastic resource for parents seeking diversions for their small people around Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate and the surrounding villages. So when you know your holiday dates, have a look on there for special child friendly events and activity times. Beach Kids includes ideas of indoor things to do and before you head off to look at their site, we are happy to share some of our top suggestions right here:

There are several indoor play areas with nice cafes attached, including award winning Helter Skelter (recently voted Britain’s Friendliest Business) in Broadstairs itself, Bumble Beez on the Pysons Road Estate, or the brand new Octopus’s Garden at Dreamland in Margate.

The Hornby Visitor Centre is open every day and has spectacular Scaletrix and model train displays – there’s nowhere else quite like it in the country.

Children aged 6+ right up to teenagers will be wowed by Build a Base – the new indoor Dart Tag arena at Quex Park.  Next door to that is Jungle Jim’s vast family entertainment centre, set in beautiful countryside, with indoor and outdoor play areas that all ages will love.

After all that activity you’ll be hungry monkeys! Particularly child friendly places to eat out include The Captain Digby overlooking stunning Joss Bay beach with a large indoor play area, The Pirates Playground, or try The Hussar Hotel, in Margate, which also has nice outdoor play equipment – swings and slides.

At the end of each day you’ll be glad to get back to your comfortable holiday home where you have all the amenities you need to ensure everything runs smoothly for your family while you’re staying with us!
