Margate Jazz Festival – Dates Confirmed
We first wrote about Margate Jazz Festival in the early days of this blog. Now, as we update this post, it’s exciting to report that the festival has reached its 11th year and continues to develop and promote the vibrant jazz scene in Margate and the surrounding areas – as well as international artists.
The dates for 2016 have now been announced as 23rd – 25th September.
Since 2005 the Festival has included the likes of Jamie Cullum, Cleo Laine and Johnny Dankworth, Nigel Kennedy, Courtney Pine, Christine Tobin, Norma Winstone and Clare Martin, as well as local favourites such as accomplished Canadian guitarist Jamie Moore.
Margate’s Harbour Cafe Bar put on this annual contemporary Jazz Festival.
Since 2015 the organisers have been broadening the scope and appeal of the event and to encourage musicians from across Europe to participate, making it truly international. This is not just for the dedicated jazz fan – though if you come with sophisticated tastes you’ll like what you find here. Curious visitors who just want to experience something different and fun will also discover plenty to entertain them at this event.
Why not follow the Margate Jazz Festival on twitter and let them tell you all about their plans for this September as the dates get closer.
