Self Catering Holiday Lets Broadstairs
If you’re starting to plan your 2016 holiday now, how about booking to stay in one of our well equipped holiday lets in the charming English seaside town of Broadstairs, on the East Kent coast.
We have several well equipped and comfortable self catering holiday properties situated in pleasant residential locations around the town – all within walking distance to the beach, attractions, shops, bars cafes, takeaways and restaurants – and all on nice quiet streets, so that you can completely relax in the evenings if you’re staying in.
People like to holiday in Broadstairs for a range of reasons. If you don’t know the town, allow us to tell you a little bit about it, to help you decide if it could be the perfect English seaside holiday destination for you too!
Number one on pretty much everyone’s list is the beach, erm, did we say beach singular, that was silly of us, there are SEVEN glorious sandy beaches in Broadstairs! The main one is Viking Bay, it’s right in the heart of town. As you walk down the High Street you can see the sea glistening at the end of the road. Check out the view that awaits you in the picture below:
We have posted lots more pictures of beautiful Broadstairs beaches – and those in the surrounding area on our pinterest page. If you’re a pinterest user you might like to add some of our posts to your holiday planning pinterest boards – please feel free!
So Viking Bay is beautiful and so are the bays to the right and left of it, all around the coast that the town sits on and off to the outskirts, you could go to a different beach every day in a seven day holiday in Broadstairs and you can also take in several at a time by walking between them – either towards Ramsgate or Margate. There are also great beaches at our sister resorts of Ramsgate and Margate. Seriously, book two weeks in the area and you won’t run out of new beaches to see if you’re prepared to get in the car, on your bike, take a bus or bring your hiking boots! Each has it’s own unique character but all share that outstanding characteristic of the coast here: the soft golden sand.
It’s amazing that the area isn’t better known given that we have the closest sandy beaches to London. You can be here in just over an hour from St Pancras or Stratford International on the new High Speed Train link. If you’re driving from the capital it will take around 2 hours from North or West London, or more like one hour from anywhere with an SE postcode. The launch of the new High Speed Train in 2010 and more recent advertising campaigns by Visit Kent, have started to attract more visitors. Right now there’s a real buzz about the place.
Other reasons to come to Broadstairs include the rich programme of events that take place all year round. Come during Broadstairs Blues Bash, Broadstairs Dickens Festival, Broadstairs Folk Week, Broadstairs Food Festival or at Broadstairs Water Gala time for a really special atmosphere in the town and loads of activities. Firework displays over Viking Bay take place on a few evenings a year (not just New Year and Guy Fawkes Night) and there’s nothing more enjoyable than seeing the sea lit up with a million different colours while enjoying music from the adjacent bandstand overlooking the sea with a good natured, laid back crowd.
It’s a friendly town, visitors often comment how relaxed it feels here. the little Info Kiosk overlooking Viking Bay is manned by volunteers and they are always happy to talk to holiday makers about where to go and what to do while you’re on holiday. Shopkeepers too like a chat and you might even find yourself having an entertaining conversation with one of our groups of young foreign students who are sent round the town with lists of questions to ask people they meet on the streets as part of their orientation when they start their English language course with one of the local language schools. People come to Broadstairs from all over the world to learn English. Café owners, bar tenders, and the staff and owners of local restaurants etc, all will be keen to help make your stay here an enjoyable one. Because it’s not possible to live or work in Broadstairs and not to fall in love with it and to want to share the love with visitors!
Year Round Attractions include Mini Golf, the Dickens Museum and Crampton Tower Museum and the Amusement Arcade. In the summer months Viking Bay also has kiddies rides, helter skelter and trampolines with a giant inflatable giraffe for the kids to bounce on.
Most of our holiday lets have six bedrooms, some can sleep up ten people. We also have a couple of apartments. You can view all our properties here.
Why would you think of taking a self catering holiday let rather than stay in a hotel or guest house? Again there are many good reasons:
The joy of being able to cook what you want to eat when you want to eat it and to be able to budget accordingly, shopping for whatever you want either from the shops in the high street or from one of the local superstores, is in itself a great plus point. Our holiday lets in Broadstairs offer family kitchens with all mod cons as well as outside barbecues and your own garden. Nearby you will find large format Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys and Aldi stores and on the High Street in the town there’s Budgens, Coop and Tesco convenience stores as well as excellent independent butchers and greengrocers and The Bottleneck independent off licence. Twice a month you can even shop at one of our two local farmers markets where you’ll discover exceptional bargains and some very special locally produced goodies.
You can spend the money you’ve saved on great days out, like taking a trip to nearby Dreamland in Margate. Or save your money full stop and enjoy all the free local attractions like Turner Contemporary, Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve or long walks on the beach.
There’s no need to make polite conversation with a guest house landlady or hotel staff if you’re staying in your very own holiday home. you have all the privacy in the world and can completely relax.
Beeches Holiday Lets in Broadstairs also represent exceptional value, depending on the size of your party and when you book, prices can be as low as £5.50 per person per night!
