Dreamland events announced
Many of our guests have happy memories of Dreamland from years back. Since reopening in 2015 the amusement park has been a key element of Margate’s ongoing regeneration and reinvention. After Phase 1 a further £25million investment has been made and extensive further development work is ongoing. We’ve written quite recently about changes at the park. Read our post from earlier this year here. Now as we head towards the end of the year Dreamland keeps on giving. We are excited to share news of four major Dreamland events that have just been confirmed will take place between November 2017 and April 2018.
- First off will be a massive party for the Day of the Dead, with The Cuban Brothers. Dreamland Fiesta is on 11 November.
- Then BuggedOut! present Belgian dance legends, 2manyDJs, on 8th December.
- The Beat and The Selector play 24 February
- Last but far from least, Undercover Festival returns on 13 and 14 April
For the full line up of all the other events going on over the winter and into next year, do visit the Dreamland website. The below is not an exhaustive list, there’s lots more going on!

The Beat and The Selector
24 February 2018
Before Britpop was a thing, 2 Tone bands came out of Britain’s multiracial inner cities – London, Birmingham Bristol etc – and got the whole country on the dance floor celebrating difference with lyrics that often took a gritty and irreverent sidelong look at life. The Beat’s music fuses ska, pop, soul, reggae and punk rock. The Selecter, still fronted by Pauline Black, are one of the most successful ska bands of the 2 Tone revival era, with multiple top forty singles in the British charts including the memorable Too Much Pressure and On My Radio.
This double dose of ska will have you dancing non-stop to feel-good hits.

Undercover Festival
13th – 14th April 2018
Undercover Festival returns in 2018 for its second year at Dreamland. This is reckoned to be one of the best alternative festivals the South of England has to offer.
The organisers take an independent and grassroots approach to this event which will bring two days of alternative music from bands you are unlikely to see on other Festival lineups. Sham 69 and The Blockheads are confirmed already – watch the Dreamland website for details of more acts still to be announced.
Tickets from £39 – Buy Online
Note
Visit the Dreamland website to book tickets and find out about all of the park’s many other events taking place during this period and beyond. For example – Dreamland becomes The Frosted Fairground over Christmas.
It is always advisable to buy tickets online and well in advance to get the best prices – and be aware that events at Dreamland often sell out so don’t hang around if you see something you know you want to go to.
