Quex Park and Powell-Cotton Museum

250 acres of parkland and gardens, Quex has got it all going on.  From their award winning Museum to their beautiful gardens, the Maize Maze, outdoor play area, indoor soft play barn, Laser Rush, Build-a-Base and paintballing … this place just works no matter what the weather, what age children you have or what your budget is.  Prices start from £2.50

The Kitchen

The Kitchen is a wonderful place for all budding Bake Off stars to hone and develop their culinary skills, in the heart of Margate Old Town, adjacent to the popular cool retro Cupcake Cafe.  From cupcake baking and decorating to muffin and pizza making, The Kitchen offers all this for kids from tiny to tall, (as well as for grown ups), with parent and child classes for the very little ones.  Prices start from £7.

Helter Skelter

Voted Britain’s Friendliest Business for 2014, Helter Skelter is a soft play centre and café right in the very heart of Broadstairs town.  Great food, a friendly welcome (naturally!) and a haven of excitement and adventure for the under 8’s, what’s not to love?!  Prices from £3

Lilliputt Mini Golf

What sort of seaside town would we be without mini golf?  Embrace your competitive streak and chip, putt or hack your way around this wonderfully family friendly course, just up from the bandstand.  Prices from £3.50

Revolution Skate Park

An indoor skate park and climbing centre, suitable for skateboards, roller skates, blades, scooters and BMX’s, Revolution Skatepark, in St Peters, is the perfect place for them to let loose. Prices from £6

Wingham Wildlife Park

Not strictly on the Isle but a mere stone’s throw away is Wingham Wildlife Park. From the big cats in their cages to the free roaming peacocks and chickens – or the penguins as pictured below – there is a really diverse mix of animals to see here.  Not only that, once you’re done, there’s a great outdoor play area or if the weather turns on you then there’s an indoor soft play barn to expend any excess time and energy you and your brood may have.  Prices from £11 (under 2’s go free)

Palace Cinema

Another gem right in the heart of Broadstairs town is the Palace Cinema.  Housed within this listed building is a single screen 111-seat cinema that screens all the latest blockbusters in a wonderfully unique setting.  What’s even better than that … no multiplex prices here, prices from £3.50

Turner Contemporary

Throughout the year Turner Contemporary, on the seafront at Margate, run Family workshops almost every Sunday . During the school holidays activities go on during the week too, offering you and your family the opportunity to partake in truly unique creative experiences – and potentially create and come away with something really special made on the day.  Prices from free to £3

Joss Bay Surf School

From hourly lessons to entire summer surf schools this is another big hitter for children aged 8-16 (kids must be able to swim 50m unaided to get involved.) Try surfing or paddle boarding within the safe confines of this locally lauded surf school and take home skills to build on for life.  Prices from £15.
