Wheels and Fins Festival -music, sport, action!

Got bored teenagers and struggling to find family outings everyone can enjoy? Then win brownie points with this plan and grab tickets for the Wheels and Fins Festival on 7th to 9th of September which we are proud to sponsor.

Because Wheels and Fins Festival is an original mix of extreme sport, live music, and action it has something wonderful for everyone, no matter what age you are. Above all, hurry because they are selling out fast. So don’t miss out, you can buy tickets here, and look for your place to stay with us at one of our lovely Broadstairs holiday lets here

The festival site is on Joss Bay. This is one of Broadstairs most beautiful beaches and is Kent’s best surfing beach. It is a perfect location for this vibrant event – the natural spot for outdoor sports like swimming, surfing and stand-up paddle boarding.

The live music stages have a great range of bands. The Libertines are the headliners on Sunday night and have put together Sunday’s main stage line-up.

To the shock and surprise of fans, the music press here  states that The Libertines, say their performance here will be their last “for the forseeable future” – fans of the band will definitely not want to miss this!

With over 80 live acts programmed across 3 stages for 3 days there is something for everyone. You can get your knee’s up with Chas and Dave, rock out with Echo and the Bunnymen or get down and dirty with the many DJ sets. Whatever your tastes, there will be something to move your feet and shake your booty!

Because extreme sports are not everyone’s thing, there is also plenty of opportunity to spend time engaged in the more gentle sports of sunbathing, swimming and beach yoga- or just enjoy the music and the vibe! If you’re feeling a bit more adventurous there are surfing and paddle boarding lessons. Shop till you drop in the market and then head onto the street food and the bars. Or why not re-discover your inner artist in one of the special ‘creative spaces’. Here you can try new activities or go back to old favourites.

And when the festival party vibes are all too much, Beeches Holiday Lets in Broadstairs provide the perfect family base to go and relax in. We think you’ll find our fully equipped holiday lets offer a much more comfortable spot for a good night’s sleep and shower than camping on the site itself and the festival site is just a ten or fifteen minute drive away. When it comes to relaxing, our holiday homes are just that. We offer you a ‘home from home’ where you can put your feet up when you need a rest from the last party of Summer.

The festival site Main Stage is on an open field overlooking the sea, provides the perfect opportunity to do your best dancing by the sea and under the stars. The dance stage is  here and so is Tim Peaks Diner with a full programme of music and entertainment. On the beach itself you will find: DJ sets, surf competition; stand up paddle board racing/demo’s; surf life-saving competitions; beach yoga; environmental workshops; Surfers Against Sewage workshops; beach volleyball; beach café; surf & SUP hire. And, oh yes, just plenty of joyous and fun times to be had! Kick back and have fun watching the surfers roll by with your toes in the sand.
