Authentic Thai Food Made With Love in Historic Ramsgate.
Something most of us pay great attention to when on holiday is the food! Within the myriad eateries to be found nearby when staying at Beeches Holiday Lets you will find some fantastic establishments offering excellent cuisine and value for money. One of these is newly-opened Thai Passion and after a flurry of rave reviews we thought what better than to go and experience it ourselves!
Immediately on arrival what impresses is the fantastic premises Thai Passion operates from. The Grade II listed Custom House on Ramsgate’s Harbour Parade is a beautiful Victorian red-brick building facing the thriving Royal Harbour. The restaurant itself is tucked away towards the back of the Custom House’s grand entrance hall. We were there on a chilly November evening and it felt very warm and welcoming. Although it was dark, there is a garden area as well, boding well for a summer visit too.
So onto the food, the star of this story. We were not disappointed! At the front of the menu is a lovely message from Thai chef Chonny. The range of dishes is well-considered and, going by reviews on social media, pleasingly authentic. Our party ordered various starters and main dishes, all of which arrived together and were beautifully presented. Alas, no photos of the food, we were too busy tucking in! Suffice to say, everything was delicious and had a depth of flavour only an accomplished chef can achieve. High points were the perfectly cooked tiger prawns in an exotically fragrant broth and the most delicate dim sum you will surely ever eat. Worth noting is that vegans and vegetarians are well catered for too, and the tofu red curry was rich and satisfying. Their prices were reasonable and we hear that they have just been awarded an official food hygiene rating of 5, the top score
Thai Passion’s staff were very friendly and attentive and we felt well looked after. After the meal we stepped back out onto Harbour Parade, with its bright lights, bars and music serving as a reminder that there is plenty to entertain there you in the late evening before venturing back to your Beeches Holiday Lets accommodation. Good to know!
